In the future, there might be academies that support citizen scientists. No academic affiliation required. Faculty/masters are generously paid with public funds, of course.
These academies are nodes in an ecological system that borrow and share their work, immediately successful/applicable or not.

Trump claims that a mystery friend has donated $130 million to pay troops (it would cover a fraction) but we can’t know any details because he “doesn’t want recognition.”

I appreciate anyone willing to give $130 million to our troops but I’d still like to know more about this.

the point of the ballroom obvs has nothing to do with aesthetics. it's to create an architectural structure to honor the patronage networks that currently dominate US politics. previous WH venues hosted maybe a couple of hundred people; this hosts nearly 1,000 rich donors.
