It's near-white out conditions in Chicago as the snow comes down, and tonight's anti-ICE/CBP rally is wrapping up in front of city hall.

But not before the crowd bounces and chants, "I believe that we will win!"

I think it's rather sad that people are describing the ICE murders as "people are being killed by their own government", as though that were somehow unusual.

The majority of murders are committed by people known to the victims (relatives, neighbors, etc), but of the people killed by strangers...

Staff at a Twin Cities yarn store put together a pattern for a red knit “Melt the ICE” hat inspired by the Norwegian resistance.

They thought they would attract 10 people to a weekly knit-along.

They’ve sold 70,000 copies, raising more than $250k for immigrant aid groups.

Made some excellent progress yesterday AND I found another hank of yarn so no more stress about not having enough!

I read through the button hole instructions and was thoroughly confused. But I’ve got a bit of work before the confusing part

So I ended up knitting the whole left sleeve in the wrong needle size (the ribbing size) and it was noticeably different when you put it on. Apparently I never took a photo before frogging but here we are.

I finished the body and am back to finish the arm.

Finished my musselburgh hat!!

The cashmere feels absolutely incredible and is SO warm. I’ll be making a medium size for myself in the future so I can fold a brim.

Pattern: Musselburgh
Yarn: Miss Bab’s cashmere/silk

Le sigh. The TikTok algorithm is shot. Just showing me a bunch of nonsense garbage now.

Really glad I started on here and stuck with it back when they were supposed to ban it the first time around

they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.

My first gluten free sourdough loaf turned out amazing!

It’s definitely flatter than it should be so I messed something up but taste is fantastic! Tangy and chewy with a perfect crust

What a lovely day of kind/friendly social interactions.

The world is so scary right now but I have hope in the power of community.

Grocery shopping actually went fine. Got everything I needed and shelves was stocked. Even got my first ever case of water. Then again I went early on a workday so maybe I just beat the crowd 🤷‍♀️

Here’s to hoping we don’t lose power again 🙃 hopefully they fixed the power grid issues 🤞

I can’t WAIT to wear this hat.

I wonder if I can push to finish it before this storm hits…I’m just past halfway but I’ve been spending more time on other projects so maybe…..

They’re calling for some crazy snowstorm this weekend….we’ll see what happens.

But if it does snow, I’m continuing my tradition of building a snowman on the mall ☃️
