You can just call me by my name, and any pronouns are fine. Needing a break from overthinking. Let's relish in the absurdity of the times together
I'll never not repost this poem when I see it.
I don't think I've come across a poem that taps into my ethos when it comes to navigating queer community within the context of a hostile world as much as "We Have Enough Dead Friends" by Lena Oleanderson.
I strive to make my home a sanctuary where other faggots feel safe and cared for.

Just finished "Boots" on Netflix, and it's giving Mojo Dojo Casa House vibes if that had taken off. The boot camp pipeline reminded me of when I was going through the enlistment process.

Somebody: What have you been up to?
Me (internally): Please, don't ask for an elevator pitch. I am in a Deweyan space of discomfort, suspending any judgement, and feeling the discomfort of each moment.
Me (externally): I'm just taking things one day at a time.

Apropos of nothing, I would like to point out that large companies whose business model is "serve words to the public" will typically pay between US $.10 and $3.00 per word. So when you give words to a company for free, you are in fact paying them a LOT of money.

How do y'all balance processing the chaos with remaining gregarious or convivial to those who have yet to come under our umbrella of resistance?
I'm finding it difficult to put down my indignance and resentment for family and folks who voted GOP or who didn't vote at all.

I'm feeling indignant about systems of power today. If you need me, I'll be watering my house plants and watching GBBO.

Excellent reporting from Heated and Atmos.
It looks like some of the biggest investors in the anti-trans movement are fossil fuel billionaires who are trying to use trans issues to ensure that Republicans pass policies favorable to their industry.

Fossil fuel billionaires are bankrolling the anti-trans movement
An investigation shared exclusively with Atmos and HEATED finds that 80% of anti-trans organizations receive fossil fuel funding.

Quote from Alberto Toscano that's particularly relevant to what we are seeing from the GOP. The role of women (i.e. Erika Kirk) in fascism.

Hermann Kallenbach was perhaps the single most important figure in Gandhi’s life during his time in South Africa. He has been described as Gandhi’s “white brother” and as his “soulmate,” but was their relationship purely platonic?

For anyone who needs to hear this: life is too short to finish a book you're not enjoying.
Prose is annoying you? Don't finish it.
It feels like a chore to pick up and read? Don't finish it.
Just not feeling it? Don't finish it.
We're not in class. There won't be a test. Read for *your* enjoyment.
