Humanity is something, I tell you what.

Those that have a significant platform that spew hate or lies should be deplatformed while we still have something of a democracy in '26.

Other post-truth platforms should go. Should be gone. Stay away from their ghost towns of hate. Eventually they will be gone.

Read books always.

At the age of 41, almost 42, I don't have the desire to worry about the ownership of my digital books anymore.

I love my Kobo Libra Colour. I'd love to say I owned my books, but I know that what I own is the ability to read the purchased books.

I'm fine with that.

How often do you bounce between multiple books? I'm currently doing this, and I'm not getting anywhere. This is why I normally read one book at a time.

I'm finally back to reading after being sick. It's time to do some damage!

Sorry about not being around. I've been mentally and emotionally unwell, as well as being sick.

I'm still here.

My reading has been terrible since Monday. Nothing. Headaches truly do suck, friends.

2026 could be the year of re-reads for me; I feel it in my bones. I'm already reading a book I read few years ago: A Life of Crime by Aron Beauregard. Yes, I do read splatterpunk, too. 😉

Finished this last night. Like many others, I felt the Tender is the Flesh vibes. Personally, I loved Maia's story and words. There is nothing sterile in these pages, folks. This was ultimately like reading Claire Keegan from the bowels of a gulag.

The Right to Be Lazy by Paul Lafargue, the nonfiction book I'm starting tonight, was picked because I, too, am lazy.

What is the average page number you get in on the average day, #Booksky? If you feel inclined to say, what do you typically read?

I'm curious.

I'm 35% in. This is a like the preface to Agustina Bazterrica's Tender is the Flesh, though much more digestible...

It's possible that I'll finish tonight.

#Booksky
I started Of Cattle and Men by Ana Paula Maia tonight. It's already reminding me of Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica, one of my favorite books of all time.

Flowers for Algernon is about Charlie Gordon, a man with an intellectual disability who undergoes an experimental surgery to increase his intelligence . . .

I'm still crying, friends.

It's crazy to think that I once disliked and dropped Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes.

I just read Charlie's last words, and I'm crying like a school boy. This book has jumped up to a top ten right now.

🥲

I thought I'd finish Flowers for Algernon by the 1st, but I'm too damn tired and am going to give myself some grace.

#Booksky, I encourage you not to be too hard on yourself as a reader in 2026. This is still just a hobby!

Fireworks.

Dogs.

I'm glad I can still attempt to read through the canine ear shanking every negative second...

...but damn, I hate how much they fear fireworks. I got an old girl and a butch puppy. Terrified. Check on your dogs, friends.

What are you reading tonight?
