During WWII, sisters Truus & Freddie Oversteegen, & their friend Hannie Schaft, joined the Dutch resistance as assassins. They were most noted for the Nazis they lured to execution. The lesson? In the coming troubles, no lovers lane, theater, bar, NOT ANYWHERE should be safe for Nazis or their ilk.

I suppose in the future what's happening now may become known as "The Battle of Minneapolis," but I think--hope--it's historic precisely because it's not that. Fascism wants a fight. Instead, Minneapolis's main response is mutual aid. Struggle, in a deeper sense of the term than fascism can imagine.

In Minneapolis, one man knew immediately what he could offer and said “Bring me your clothing”.

The administration wants a U.S. population of 100 million “white” people (as they’ll define it). They don’t get there without diseases assisting the population reduction. Always remember their ultimate goal, Lebensraum (German for "living space"), and every action the take makes sense.

“Dealing with.” Not caring for children or making the kidnapping less traumatic. “Dealing with.” ICEhole.

For some reason I get the impression Bovino’s picturing an Easy-Bake oven sitting next to an Auschwitz oven.

Baffled? It makes perfect sense in trump-brain. It achieves the Russian goal of removing the U.S. from NATO, Greenland’s weak so he thinks it’s an easy win, and it makes the U.S. on his Mercator projection map look huge. All of this is upside in trump-brain.

Can we please protect the children?

I remember being a kid and being told to go back to Africa. And that was before Trump. Kids right now have it so much worse. The cruelty is louder, more public, more sanctioned.

Shelter the little ones. No one deserves this treatment, but especially not them.

There’s no point during the detention of a five-year-old that any person with a functioning moral center would not step back to reassess the situation and their place in it. That nobody involved did proves they lack the common interiority required to successfully coexist in ordered society.

This is the kind of thing that makes me want to hop a plane with my 14 year old son and show him how real Americans respond to fascism.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

I think there was a KGB brainstorming session in the bowels of Lubyanka 40 years ago that went something like this:

“We’ve tried everything to breakup NATO and undermine the West, EVERYTHING, but there’s no way to accomplish this goal!”

*Pause* “Have we tried letting them win?”

*Stunned silence*
