People need to more carefully consider the kind of criticisms they make and whether they are actually achievable (not politically, but like is this possible?). Proposing completely unworkable solutions to problems is not actually useful to anyone, including the people you ostensibly want to help.

It’s a plant! :)

She’s trying to get a job at Heritage. It was a deliberate attempt to get a bad grade, and you’re being obtuse.

Her rights aren’t being violated and if anything this is gender-based harassment of the TA.

Nothing wrong per se, but there seems to be a pattern of disdain for younger women politicians that is not based on much of substance.

Ah cool, condescension without any meaningful content

Both outsiders and insiders can be good or bad. But with all due respect to Chicago, it pretty famously has a Democratic Party machine that is literally synonymous with corruption (“Chicago-style politics” has its own Wikipedia page). Maybe it should be less reliant on political insiders.

An unsettling number of brittle stars!

She had the highest national profile of any of the candidates before the race started because of her work with media matters. I would be more concerned about the candidates getting most of their funding from PACs and large $ donors than small $ donors out of state

Does it give you any pause that you two share a very particular demographic? Because it should.

If you only yield to young people you agree with, that doesn’t really do much, does it?
November 30, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Have you seen anything that suggests she is mixing funding streams?

but young people have every right to be angry at the congressional gerontocracy, and to have their concerns represented.
November 30, 2025 at 9:00 PM
I’m not sure you understand the extent to which the very old leadership in congress has worked to undermine the interests of young people, usually to their own detriment. Most of the candidates in this race genuinely seem to get along fine,

Biss has also raised money for charitable groups, and I’m not sure how you think she should pay legal fees if she can’t fundraise. Do you think the Feds should be able to force anyone out of a race by indicting them? It seems like your main issue is that she is a young person.

Once you acknowledge the districts don’t represent actual communities, this argument is nothing more than a complaint about a procedural hurdle that you want to exist, but doesn’t in reality. I suspect you have a different issue with Kat, and are hiding it behind a complaint about her address.

Because Chicago’s congressional districts look like this and don’t represent actual coherent communities. If reps here had to strictly live in their districts, most of them would be booted out of their districts after each census.
