I have seen people I respect like or repost this take, but I want you to actually think about it for one second. Is this actually a serious criticism and what are the implications? Are they talking just about *their specific disability*?

What does e.g., a universally usable book even look like?

She’s trying to get a job at Heritage. It was a deliberate attempt to get a bad grade, and you’re being obtuse.

Her rights aren’t being violated and if anything this is gender-based harassment of the TA.

Because Chicago’s congressional districts look like this and don’t represent actual coherent communities. If reps here had to strictly live in their districts, most of them would be booted out of their districts after each census.

The test described in Neagle is that to be immune from state prosecution the federal officer 1) must be carrying out his lawfully authorized duties, and 2) that the actions he takes that violate state law must be necessary to carry out those duties.

Come on man. This was not a serious document. It existed so people could say it existed, not so they could read it.

Isn’t the focus on electoral behavior misplaced when it lags behind legislative polarization? This is just voters more accurately recognizing the stakes of elections.

this report contains some of the worst data interpretation I've ever seen.

Wow, could it be that there is a slight negative relationship between social media following and electoral performance because congressional districts contain a finite number of people???

We can only show this change because of a short (basically 1 page of text) 1983 paper in the Canadian Field-Naturalist. As far as I can tell, this paper is only available online via @biodivlibrary.bsky.social www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/2800903...

Now that I have time to explain this a little more: since 2021, @sarahsanderson.bsky.social and I, and some other folks from @ecoevoevoeco.bsky.social's lab have been working in QC's Parc national du Lac-Témiscouata on some odd stickleback populations rapidly evolving in response to stocked trout.🧪🐟

Could you please elaborate on this part of the story? King Cove already has an airport.

No idea where this is, but let me tell you this stream has soooo many stickleback in it.

As a salmonid biologist from Pennsylvania, it is impossible for me to describe how infuriating this is.

I have emailed the state about undocumented native, wild brook trout populations that they wouldn’t even put on their maps without doing a survey that they were too understaffed for.

Here's some bird pics from Látrabjarg in the beginning of July. It turns out puffins are incredibly easy to photograph, so I like how these came out despite me having no idea how to work my camera.

Many people whose job it is to write about politics seem to be unaware of anything that has happened in the past decade or any of the prominent political actors of that time period.
