How much does it cost the EPA to investigate a licence condition breach, and issue a warning notice? More than $4040 is my thinking.

#politas
#Tasmania's EPA fined Tassal $4040 for licence condition breaches at its Triabunna #salmon processing plant

+ EPA issued 6 warning notices to Tassal over other breaches at the plant & the Okehampton & Soldiers Point leases #politas #auspol

“Helsinki hasn’t registered a single traffic-related fatality in the past year…Citing data that shows the risk of pedestrian fatality is cut in half by reducing a car’s speed from 40 to 30km/hr, city officials imposed the lower limit in most of Helsinki’s residential areas & city center in 2021.”
Helsinki just went a full year without a single traffic death
The capital city is Finnish’ed with car-related fatalities.

How many other major industries would get away with crap like this?
Lobster fishery off Bruny Island in TAS closed on eve of the opening of fishing season due to antibiotic use by the salmon farms.
No indication of how long for. Must be a devastating blow for fishermen approaching Xmas.

Good riddance.
I was brought up believing that Nazi and swatstickers were illegal. Did this change somewhere. World wars were fought to stop this type of oppression, yet here it is in Australia.
Outlaw it now.

59 today, woke up to departing guests arranging a special presentation on the dining table for me, including an Oreo and white chocolate cheesecake. Yes, it's as good as it sounds! Most grateful for good friends helping me celebrate.

Biodiversity offsets didn’t work in NSW. Will Labor make the same mistake nationwide?
Offsets were meant to be a last resort for mitigating environmental damage from development projects, but rapidly became the default

I spent last week in an intensive 5 day workshop learning how to weave a willow coffin. Deeply satisfying to be weaving again, but the supplier wasn't terribly prepared, so we also learned advanced techniques to compensate.

I'll load completed shots later - plait and toggles missing here. #handmade

Dear ABC radio, please have somebody with more expertise than me explain to you why “renewables are the cheapest form of power” and “power prices have gone up in the last years in spite of increased renewables” are not contradictory statements. And why slowing renewables will not bring prices down.
