They could've voted in a seven-time MVP, a seven-time Cy Young/one-time MVP winner. They could've voted in guys like Murphy (2 MVPs) or Mattingly (1) who, for at least a brief time, were plausibly the best players in the game. But we get Jeff Kent who was never even once the best player on his team.

I’ve known about trans people ever since I was a kid and I’ve never once thought “those people don’t deserve respect or human rights” my thoughts were always “well I’m definitely happy as I am but if this is what makes that person happy then good for them”

Why is that so difficult?

If the Sep. 2 boat really had "narco-terrorists" on board, questioning the survivors would have been a way to learn about how the organization worked, where more drugs were stashed, etc. But this isn't a counter-terrorism campaign. It's a shooting gallery with helpless targets.

Trainwreck? In October 2024, The Economist called Biden's economy "the envy of the world."
BARTIROMO: What are you expecting the president's economic message to be?

SEN. McCORMICK: I think the message is that we inherited a trainwreck from the Biden administration and we made a lot of progress

Since they're shooting these boats from a distance in the air and not stopping and boarding the boats, I still don't understand how they know how many people are in these boats much less who they are.

first, a "small open drug boat" does not waste capacity carrying 9 more people than the 2 running the boat

second, how did they determine all 11 "deserved" to die for their crimes

third, was the wreckage analyzed for significant drugs

fourth, in a "war", survivors are picked up and interrogated

Did you know that before Nixon and Reagan, health insurance companies in America were non-profit? Yep, they screamed about "socialized medicine" and gradually shifted the focus of our entire healthcare system from public welfare to... making bucks off illness.

The GOP U.S. Supreme Court is not a court-it's an arm of the GOP. In 2028 we need Democratic presidential candidates to make reforming this corrupt court one of the top priorities!

I really would like to hear a non-nefarious reason why reporters at places like the NYT, WaPo, or NPR can't take 10 second to tell us that the $100 billion we spend on SNAP is 1.3% of the budget or the $6 billion that went to the AIDS program in Africa was 0.9% of the budget. Love to hear a reason.
seriously, can anyone give me a reason why reporters refuse to express huge budget numbers, that they know are meaningless to their audience, in a context that makes them understandable -- such as a percentage of the budget? I NEVER get an answer to this question.
If every budget number was presented as a percent of budget, percent of GDP, and percent of 10 year GDP, a large fraction of the population would have a pretty good understanding of the relative sizes of these items and budget proposals pretty quickly

NOTE: Democrats believe that immigration is a necessity to expand our future population as it is slowly dropping.

Immigration is the answer to our joblessness. Not the reason for it.

Every roofer hires immigrants.
Every landscaper hires immigrants.
Every builder of any structure, hires immigrants.

There is zero narrative right now about wages or incomes. Kudos to all the rich assholes at choke points in the political process that succeeded in wielding polling to keep the conservation not about what you earn relative to the rich but on the price of eggs. Master stroke.

It's not. A July 2025 survey showed that almost 1/2 of registered Republicans say they'd still vote for Trump if he were "officially implicated in Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking activities" that were known to involve children. leger360.com/trump-epstei...

that is nefarious and I also am not convinced that reporters/editors believe their budget stories command more attention because their audience exaggerate the size of the spending involved by a factor of ten or even a hundred (0.008% of the budget went to public broadcasting).
That’s because they want to hype things, and putting things in context will mean they can’t create hype to that news. #biased
