Btw this is one of the biggest reasons why it’s not as easy as people think to start up independent newsrooms or just be an indie journalist on substack. If you are actually holding powerful and rich people to account, you WILL need legal representation. Not a matter of whether but when
I say that as someone who has started newsrooms from scratch sometimes with two people - if you’re doing your job correctly you will need a lawyer because the first thing rich people do when you write something they don’t like is threaten you legally. It’s cheap for them and expensive for you

Beginning to look absurd that they chose Gulf of America when everything else is Trump.

2026 is the year of "United States of Trump"

This year on Bluesky I wrote 1,893 posts and 545 replies. I received 1,355 likes, whereas 44 was from my most popular post, and apparently I love saying "not" and 🤣!

Also, if you are hating on the new Avengers trailer its quite likely a) you aren't the demographic b) you are trying to be popular with your edgy views that everyone can see through.

I see wet wipe is watering down the inheritance tax stuff for the heavily subsidised farmers.

Its almost like Labour has to announce a policy, piss off as many people as possible, then not do the thing that pisses them off - its like performance art at this point.

Whether it is app devs, game devs or hardware that is cloud connected. Laws should be passed for minimum years of online support and mandated open-sourcing of the servers required to run the products at a specified point (bankruptcy, 5 years) etc.

No interest from politicos in pockets of donors....

CBS didn't run the 60 Minutes segment on CECOT, but over here at @propublica.org we've been working on the story since March, including finding out who each and every man sent to that maximum security prison was.

I do wonder about the pant pishing supporters of pittodrie sometimes.

"Major changes", "nothing attacking and shit at defending"

But in reality - we don't concede many - the stats show that - we simply don't score very many.

As I've said for months - if we get a scoring striker.....

Private Eye, sadly, has a horrific record attacking "poofs" and now trans people. And Hislop has a worldview that is handicapped, like so many public school types of his generation, by both huge entitlement and a lack of curiosity about the lives of those without his privilege.

The **real** problem with the Dons.

Shinnie, Neilssen, Armstrong, Devlin, are all realistically in their last season. KarlRonaldosson is only a loan.

Whatever we achieve this season, there is another big rebuild to get to grips with *again*.

In January we need to go get some proven players

Glad to see poundshop ronaldo called out by abzpodcast. We can't keep carrying him.

He *might* be occasionally great - but I would contend that Shady Mo was a better team player and as much of a threat going forward.

Total gaslighting. Anti-trans activist; chooses to speak in person, provoking students who want to protect trans rights; they exercise their freedom of speech to tell her she isn't wanted; she gets to speak anyway; the BBC dutifully platforms her again; and now she threatens to sue everyone.

'Listen to me as I come to your neighbourhood and tell your trans siblings they are subhuman or I will use the wealth of billionaires to sue you into oblivion,' is a very late-capitalism form of free speech right.
