Far too early days yet but Robins going up with Stoke and us is a bit of a story. I wouldn’t begrudge it him tbh obvs as long at it’s not at our expense. #pusb

What’s handy for Farage is that his own innate racism has been a timely distraction at a time when his parroting Putin’s propaganda is also high on the agenda.

Was trying to work out in which way Shabana Mahmood, an otherwise pretty unremarkable politician, could possibly be described as a "luminous golden star" who "dazzles like a blue-white supernova" and then I realised, its simply a willingness to be a bit more cruel to immigrants

If only Farage’s years and years of parroting Putin’s propaganda made the top of the news instead of what we already supposed about his racism. #GMB

Re fly tipping, Susannah giving us a run down of the funding choices LAs have to make and how difficult it is. No mention of successive Tory Govts making it their sole mission to tear up the very fabric of civil society for the best part of a decade. #GMB

No mate. Fly tipping on this scale isn’t because society’s changed so people don’t call it out when they see it. It’s because the Tories spent a decade skinning public services to the bone, at the same time further enriching a tiny minority of ridiculously rich people. #GMB

Idea of universalism in state welfare is dying out, with binning the ones we have left regularly discussed. Universal welfare the country could well afford when it was on the bones of its arse after WW2. That’s another win ticked off for the neoliberal project shafting the majority of us. #gmb

Another phone in going down the line of this country being unable to afford universal state welfare, regardless of means. Universal welfare is a great leveller and we seemed to be able to well afford it when the country was on the bones of its arse after world war 2. #LBC

Benefit fraud accounts for 2.7% of the benefits bill. Again, Labour Govt fully reeled in by unevidenced, right-wing bollocks as an excuse to clamp down on the most vulnerable in society. Shameful. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Capita profiteered at least £18m doing PIP assessments for the DWP. That’s what you call a welfare giveaway, not your kids queuing with their mam at a food bank every week while they wait the 6 weeks it takes for meagre welfare payments to land.
