It would also give *Ryan Lizza*—who could, in theory, have leaked this info at any point over the last 12-16 months—a role in both RFK’s appointment and the untold preventable deaths. But Lizza either isn’t self aware enough to realize that or is too busy selling Substack subscriptions to care
well, I read it, and the salient, non-gross part is Lizza alleging, midsentence and without elaboration, that Nuzzi ran numerous “catch-and-kill operations” on RFK’s behalf, which would give her a role in both his appointment and the untold preventable deaths he has abetted in office. Cool.

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

Another good result, and again the target here was a major children’s hospital. As noted in my story about @queerdoc.bsky.social, they’re the only smaller provider known to have been in DOJ’s crosshairs, though I’m curious if one or two others may emerge: www.autonomynews.co/doj-subpoena...

I agree—but this is part of why QueerDoc is well positioned to push back. It doesn't get any federal funding in the form of Medicaid/Medicare, or subsidized marketplace plans. This is the same thing that happened with abortion care long ago, and we'll see more of it among gender care providers.
its good that the administration was thwarted here but "gender affirming care clinic doesnt take health insurance at all" is a pretty bleak thing to present as neutral or good
NEW: Trump's DOJ sent a subpoena to a gender-affirming care clinic seeking information on patients, including minors, and its insurance billing practices. The clinic—which doesn't even take insurance—fought the demand in court and won.

Independent providers like @queerdoc.bsky.social are stepping in as hospitals reduce or eliminate gender-affirming care, but this makes them easier to single out for harassment. It's a dynamic we've long seen in abortion care, as @garnethenderson.com notes

Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.

In my latest for @autonomynews.co, I spoke with @queerdoc.bsky.social founder Crystal Beal, whose telemedicine practice is the only small gender care clinic known to have been in the Trump administration's crosshairs—all the others so far have been large hospitals and health systems.
"If they can violate patient privacy protections for specific types of health care, that doesn't affect just trans people. That affects everyone,” said @queerdoc.bsky.social founder Crystal Beal.

The subpoena also sought insurance billing records—but QueerDoc only takes cash.

"Exceptions" to abortion bans are an invitation to beg, to place yourself at the mercy of risk-averse or actively hostile authority figures, to face red tape and delays, and then maybe STILL not get the abortion you need, as in this tragic case.
Incredibly depressing to see this story wrap up by quoting a lawmaker who says, “we have to allow for more exceptions,” when the entire story is evidence that exceptions don’t work, especially for a Black woman like Tierra Walker who was already at higher risk of dying due to medical neglect
“Ticking Time Bomb”: A Pregnant Mother Kept Getting Sicker. She Died After She Couldn’t Get an Abortion in Texas.
Walker is one of several women ProPublica found with underlying health conditions who died when they couldn’t access abortions.
