I used to work with a Kiwi bloke and a few of us were talking about quicks in the staffroom.

There are scenarios i think where someone could inherit a valuable business (or stake in it) which isn’t necessarily easy to liquidate. So you have a big bill but no cash to pay it. That’s more mechanics than principle though of course.

Hindsight and all that, but spending literally hundreds of millions on players you arguably didn’t really need and having no back up for those two is looking a bit daft.
