i didn't like when they downgraded malware to PuPs too cute. who could be mad at a potentially unwanted program pupper. we should only rename things to make it more clear who is the fucker in any situation

I still probably like the movies though I haven't seen them in a while. While the offputting energy from the books is still there, the production design is just beautiful, and I find it funny how the prop designers have kinda gone against Rowling's medicore worldbuilding to make the films cooler lol

Ursula K Le Guin (author of an older influential wizard school book series) described it as "ethically rather mean-spirited" and I think that fits so well

I adored HP as a kid but when I tried reading it again last year, I didn't like it at all. There is a weird energy to the books that i've seen described somewhere as "weirdly cruel" and that checks out. You know when you aren't supposed to like a character cause they'll be described as fat and ugly

I had this exact thing happen once and spent 15 minutes button mashing to somehow escape it, cause it was like 11pm 😭i was not losing that progress

I get why it's mostly not done anymore, but having ads that directly provide reasons for a product being better than specific competitors seems a lot less annoying than what we see in advertising nowadays
