Thanks for the information. My white oak tree is getting old, and there aren't any seedlings around it. I'd like to have some babies to spread around.

Since you handle acorns on a grand scale, I have a question. The white oak in my yard has a good crop this year. I'd like to raise a few seedlings. What is the best way to get some acorns to germinate and survive? I'm talking 5 or 10 acorns, not thousands!

Views of Mt. Adams are elusive if you stay on the highways. You probably had some great views from your work area.

The location is somewhere near the small town of Glenwood in Klikitat County. That's south of Mt. Adams. Around Glenwood and Trout Lake are several awesome viewpoints. I worked in that area for about three weeks, and really enjoyed the scenery.

My forestry work tends to take me on those roads less traveled! At some point, I have to get out and walk.

Each of my last two cats were skilled at hiding inside the box spring underneath the mattress. I removed the fabric on the underside of the box spring to remove that temptation. I still have to be careful when I travel, because Narvik will hide inside a bed if he's tired of traveling.

Knowing Narvik as well as I do, I'm sure that kitty thoughts dominate.
