For #WaterfallWednesday, a view of Palouse Falls in Washington with bonus marmots. The marmots did not seem to worry about the cliffs at all. Photo taken August 2014.

Three pictures of the same hillside, taken October 2012 over a span of 23 hours. Location is near McCall, Idaho. I was trying to finish a forestry project before the first major snowfall of the season. See alt text.

I seem to have a lot of pics of Narvik on this bridge, partly because he pauses long enough that I can get pictures that aren't blurry.

Peaches, pecans and pines - three of Georgia's big agricultural crops. Pecan trees line a dirt road in Crawford County. A peach orchard is on the left, a pine forest on the right.

Sweetgum can be counted on for excellent fall colors. The species is common in the southeastern US, and is planted elsewhere. This pic is of a sapling in a local Georgia park.

Here is another view of Narvik on his observation post. There are several oak trees in the yard, producing lots of acorns. Squirrels are busy, and Narvik watches their activities.

Continuing on yesterday's theme, here is another pic of Alabama croton, with an ash seedling thrown in for good measure. The leaves of the croton turn orange over a span of several weeks, adding color to the flower beds.

Narvik was busy staring at a squirrel, which is far more important than looking at the camera to pose for a picture!

Fall colors on Alabama croton, a seldom seen plant that is native to a few counties in Alabama and Tennessee. I bought one at a native plant nursery about 15 years ago. It makes an interesting yard shrub, and offers spots of color in the fall.

From the 2022 archives. On the way from Idaho to Georgia in September, I stopped at the city park in Appleton, Missouri. Narvik did a bit of exploring. He was not yet fully grown.
