More importantly, the project has given me much inspiration on doing fieldwork as a historian, on working with local community groups, of reading and experiencing landscapes, and of exploring new forms of communication and publications. This I take with me into new projects in 2026!

Now, with 1,5 months left of the project, we move into the final stage of writing up the last three publications (two for a book the larger DigiFREN project is making and one methodological article), updating the webpage with the resources we have developed, and archiving all research materials.

We didn't just go through the history of Sørmarka as a place on our walk, we also took the participants through our methods, which have been developed and honed through a series of walks with different kinds of people over the last three years.

Surprisingly many people (and a dog!) showed up for the rephotography walk yesterday. Very happy to see how interested and enthusiastic people were. Most of them wanted to push on after the cold and windy stop at the tower - and we were rewarded with beautiful weather on the last bit of the walk.
