Perhaps ICE should do their own jobs instead of acting as goon squads. Local police have even less training than ICE do in federal immigration law enforcement.
Though the Trump administration claims Massachusetts is a “sanctuary state,” some local police cooperate with ICE routinely. The relationships vary town by town, and departments largely decide for themselves whether to volunteer information to ICE — or even hand people over.

Speaker Johnson Says DOJ Should Not Track Epstein File Searches
WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Speaker Mike Johnson said Thursday it is not “appropriate” for the Department of Justice to track members of Congress reviewing unredacted Jeffrey Epstein files, as bipartisan concerns grow over how access to the records is being handled. Johnson said his understanding is that the DOJ set up designated computers for lawmakers to review the files and that members “should obviously have the right to peruse those at their own speed and with their own discretion.” He added, “I don’t think it’s appropriate for anybody to be tracking that,” suggesting any monitoring may have been an oversight. The controversy intensified after photographs surfaced showing Attorney General Pam Bondi holding notes that reportedly included search terms used by Rep. Pramila Jayapal during her review of the files. House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin called the tracking an “outrage,” arguing it undermines congressional oversight and calling for the DOJ inspector general to investigate. Rep. Nancy Mace described the monitoring as “creepy,” while House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said it violates the principles of separate branches of government. The DOJ has not publicly detailed its policies regarding tracking file access. Gabbard Accused Of Delaying Kushner Intelligence Report
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A classified whistleblower complaint against Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard centers on an intercepted intelligence report referencing Jared Kushner in discussions involving Iran, according to multiple media reports. The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times reported that the National Security Agency intercepted a conversation last year between two foreign nationals who mentioned Kushner while discussing Iran policy. The whistleblower alleges Gabbard restricted distribution of the intelligence and delayed broader dissemination to Congress for political reasons after meeting with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. The complaint, reportedly submitted in May 2025, claims the intelligence was withheld for approximately eight months before lawmakers were allowed to review a heavily redacted version on a secure, read-and-return basis. Senior administration officials told The Wall Street Journal that allegations discussed in the intercept were unverified or demonstrably false. Gabbard has denied wrongdoing, calling the claims “baseless and politically motivated.” Republican Sen. Tom Cotton said he reviewed the complaint and found it “not credible,” stating inspectors general handled the matter appropriately. It remains unclear whether Congress will pursue further investigation. The whistleblower’s attorney has urged the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to release the full complaint to lawmakers.
