I made a rig from scratch in Blender! I wanted to take a peek of Metarigs under the hood and decided to recreate it with custom controls to better learn the process, coming from zero rigging experience. That said, I'm so glad Rigify exists! 😮💨

made some improvements to the rig! noticed the IK was often getting over extended as it climbed slopes so I added some logic to offset the torso position in order to relax the leg IK #indiedev

Here's the Garlic (aka Medulla) nebula in all of its glory. This is a very dim target. I collected about 53 hours of data with 38 of that being spent on the hydrogen. I don't normally post the starless versions of my images but it was just too good not to include.

I wrote an article on my workflow for building a large open world game as an indie, without any expensive 3rd party assets.
It should be disclaimed that I don't really know anything and am just making it up as I go, but so far it is working for me 😅
