Been playing with the iOS 26 beta for a bit now—generally really positive impressions, and I *love* the return of the Safari redesign they first had in iOS 15 beta 1 ❤️

Apple's default handling of sparse images is pretty weird... Finder shows the size of the disk image by default, instead of the actual size on disk, so you end up with an 8TB file somewhere, which screws up the size everywhere up the directories...

Why does Google think it's appropriate to keep creating a useless Google Drive shortcut in my home directory? The fact that it creates it at all is already annoying, but how the fuck is it not possible to disable this? And why does Google think that re-creating it time and again is desired behavior?

Looking at my MacOS app list, there's a lot of Universal Apps there... Kind of makes me wish more devs offered ARM-only versions directly, because the wasted storage does add up...

All the Apple Intelligence/Siri delay talk is so funny to me, because there hasn't been any point in the past decade where Siri has worked reliably for even the most narrow-scoped requests--but now all the sudden the lack of reliability is an issue?😂

Well, that was an election night... Still holding my breath on whether the BSW party makes the 5% hurdle-- if they do, that will make coalitions very hard/unstable :/

6. There appears to be (have been?) a very poor understanding within the copilot team as to what the actual privacy and confidentiality concerns in compliance industry use cases actually are.

What is up with Apple Music sounding so much better than Spotify? This isn't a bitrate thing, it almost sounds like they're different masters/mixes in some cases... pretty weird...

Smart home stuff being confusing as usual: Bought an Eve Room by accident, turns out I need an "Eve Thermo Control" (Looks pretty similar and does the same things, hence my mistake) to control my thermostats instead. Except that can't measure Air Quality. :/

Super annoying that The Verge is now putting a lot of their old articles behind their paywall too...

I was today years old when I found out there's a bunch of Dock replacements for macOS that replicate the Windows taskbar (quite decently in some cases) 🤔

I am so in love with Arcane's Season 2 ❤️ The animation and story are beautiful, and they managed to really put in a lot of fan service without compromising the story 👌

Twitter’s app now auto-hiding the navigation bar and forcing every link to open in a shitty in-app browser pane is the double whammy that made me uninstall it for good. Just… ew.🤮

Gotta love how El*n M*sk shut down datacenters, culled Twitter's best staff and generally fucked everything up, and now acts surprised when everything's starting to fail and can't handle the load anymore 🤡

Does anyone else get tired of every time there's a major world event 200 people post "oh so now everyone who was an expert in $last_thing is now an expert in $current_thing". Like, people just enjoy talking about current events. Shit would be fucking boring if people only talked about their dayjob.

Right wing masculinity influencers were deeply invested in the idea that Russia’s supposedly invincible army would triumph because it was more “manly” and then they were fought to a stalemate by a jewish comedian and have now collapsed into infighting with the mercenary army of a nazi hot dog vendor

Ok, one of the most underrated features in MacOS Sonoma is the ability to use the widgets from your iPhone. That's a total game changer-- there's so many apps (travel/plane apps for example) that exist only on iPhone, but that show super useful data I want on my Mac ❤️

Managed to drop my iPhone onto concrete yesterday 😢 It survived pretty well, that new screen material does its job, but the scratches on the sides are still annoying...

The iOS Weather app is starting to make me consider switching to another service-- the predictions are less accurate than listening to the forecast on TV the evening before, which shouldn't be possible 😭

Playing TotK myself and watching others go through the same puzzles is so fun, there's so many playstyles and ways to approach these that I didn't even consider 😅 Overall crazy fun game, I love it ♥️
