Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

9️⃣ Seattle voters fired their sole Republican office-holder, its city attorney. That's the local prosecutor who oversees lower-level offenses.

You may remember this policy she helped roll out, and which her challenger told Bolts she staunchly opposed:
NEW: Seattle has a rare Republican in office, its city attorney.

She championed a policy rolled out last year — when you’re so much as charged (not convicted) of a drug offense, a judge can ban you from setting foot in select areas, like downtown.

She’s also up for reelection in a few weeks:

Something something, short-form romance fiction used to be the norm before paperbacks (in the US, at least), something something, here's the proof? 😂 #pulp #pulpmagazines

Seriously, though, a fun listen, and a good, refreshing defense of the short story/novelette format in the genre! 💕

Great ep—I'm not just saying that because I edited Katie Reus's Falling for Nola, which manages to be a great little short where the h/h *don't* know each other before pg 1.

Also I just started Ladies in Waiting—it's delightful. Justice (and happy endings!) for Jane Austen's other ladies!
We definitely have a hope-became-reality hangover this morning, but we also have a very fun episode for you today! We're talking romance shorts -- not novellas, not short novels, but actual short stories under 15,000 words (or about 50 pages).

I know everyone is celebrating Mamdani, but in my hometown, Wichita Kansas, the City Council and school board election results are absolutely seismic:

Progressive candidates won 6 of 7 City Council and school board races Tuesday, as voters send a message they’ve had enough political chaos.

Big results in PA's Dauphin County, a swingy area that's home to Harrisburg.

Dems won judgeships in the county for first time in 33 years; one of winners is the first Black woman judge in county ever.

They beat the Republican DA who was looking to become a judge. www.pennlive.com/elections/20...

La Tasha Williams and Katy Kennedy-McShane became the first Democrats elected to the bench in the county in more than 30 years.
