A near-true color view of Titan taken on 15th February 2005. Red/green/violet wide-angle frames were composited to create this view. Because a violet frame was used instead of a blue one, Titan's haze is more pronounced here (slightly brighter and extending higher in altitude) than it would be to the human eye. North is to the top. Compare the composite to a view taken some time before, but in RGB colors: here. The brightness is set to a lower level there so the atmosphere doesn't quite make a complete ring readily visible as it does here. Both composites show a subtle, discrete layer in the high altitude haze at about 5 o'clock position, something currently more typical for Titan's north pole than south.
