Shortly to be replaced by Microsoft Co-pilot
-These trees will speed up our doom loop, Humphrey
-I think, PM, that loops are stationary objects
-Unless the PM is using loop as a verb, as in "The pilot looped the plane". I suppose trees could make a pilot pull up sharply, but if that became a loop then they'd still hit them
-Thank you, Bernard!

Yeah, but Google have their own authenticator app - why isn't that their default?

'Who wrote the Bible?' by Richard Friedman is one of the greatest non-fiction books ever, and ties the writing of the Pentateuch into documented history.

I'm guessing from the prices on Amazon that it's now out of print, but there's a good summary of here - www.straightdope.com/21343123/who...

How can you call yourself a patriot if you're willing to cheer on the end of that most British of sights - a BMW parked in a disabled bay?

Fancy writing books… for cash! Come the glorious people’s revolution you shall be writing only for the enlightenment of the masses.

Just kidding. You’ll be turnip farming, with the rest of us.

You haven't seen The Expanse or The West Wing???

Got Ashford, off of The Expanse, straight away, but Bingo Bob, off of The West Wing, took a while.

The whole lot is awful. It like The 1970s: The Road.

If you’re already feeling bad about your spelling then you might as well know it’s the Bigg* Market

*I do not know if Greggg Wallace has ever been there.

We’ve got the central motorway in Newcastle, one of the few motorways in the country with a slip-road on the right of the carriageway.
And Northumberland has major roads; they’re the ones we try to keep the sheep off.

Something you'd like to say about pontiffs, is there?

People have been quoting famous film lines and adding, "Charlie Brown" to them. It's one of those Internet games that the young people do so enjoy.
November 24, 2025 at 8:59 AM
I think the problem is there might be too much on the record. There's a lot of bits that could have done with more attention than they got, because the film didn't know what story it was trying to tell.

It seems unsure what it's about. There are obviously a lot of important elements, but none of them ever seems to get the right amount of focus.

After the adverts I saw Nuremberg, which I liked a lot less than I was hoping to.

What's your plan without that information? Spend 24 hours hanging around the cheese counter on Tuesday, like some fromage pervert, hoping that she turns up there again?
November 24, 2025 at 6:07 AM
Mainly it annoyed me because if you happen to bump into Keira Knightly at the Waitrose cheese counter, and she agrees to go out with you on Tuesday, *you cannot let her walk off at that point*! You have to get some contact details for her, or at the very least say where you're going!
