Is it nice and warm?

Oh, definitely the latter!

It's a 50p pay cut compared to what I'm making now, but that's their STARTING pay, and I have going-on 8 years experience. I'm at least going to try it on, because I can try and negotiate higher.

Got a call from their Human Resources department.

Well known, and absolutely NOT useless, but Age of Empires 2 had a cheat to spawn a team-coloured Shelby Cobra: "howdoyouturnthison". It had its own unit select sound (a car engine turning over), order sound (a car engine at a steady Rev), and could out-range and out-damage a castle.

In the final level of Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, you can see the RPG-7 warhead that's used in the cinematic at the end of the level, just sitting in the rafters of the kitchen near the start of the level. It's even easier to see if you're on thermal vision.

In the original Resident Evil 4, there is exactly one loading screen ladder in the entire game where the button prompt is "jump down" instead of "climb down", located in Chapter 5, in a cave with a Merchant, as the backtrack path.

The activation sound matches the prompt.

I once had someone try and impersonate me on steam.

I DMCAed the profile picture. They've been offline since.

Unfortunately, my current career path is pretty dead-end. Unless a supervisor leaves, there's no potential for advancement.

And equally as unfortunately, while I'm essentially a specialised IT diagnostician, most employers outside the industry don't understand this, so it's hard to leave.

Eventually, saw another slot technician working on a machine, and thought it looked interesting. Unfortunately, there weren't any positions open at the time.

But!

Through sheer persistence, I managed to get a lateral transfer in February 2018, and have been a techie ever since.

So, I went into casino security as an alternative to law enforcement, and very quickly found that the internal politicking in the security department was a Good Ol' Boys' Club. They constantly set me up for failure, putting me on my weakest position (checkpoints) for months on end.

The second, I wasn't selected as a cadet because apparently I didn't have the right mindset. The third, they couldn't verify my credit history, as at that time I didn't have any whatsoever. (I didn't even have a credit card, by my choice.)

I went to uni for forensics, but ended up dropping out due to financial reasons. Tried several times to get a job as a rozzer, through different routes. The first, the police academy shrink asked me how I got that far through selection, as I was, quote, "nuttier than squirrel shit".
