Someone does need to explain to me how one person can just cease funding things that my representative government decreed should be funded. What legal justification is there? Why am I paying federal taxes?

Downstream also of publicly funded elections and no Citizens United. Even so, democracy requires engagement and vigilance; how many more examples do we need of opportunistic demagogues calling into the abyss and summoning horrors?

The airline did not give out our checked baggage, so I borrowed a robe from my hotel to sleep in and got back into my travel clothes the next day to try again. The whole time I was thinking what clothing might have been appropriate attire for this adventure.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, I spent 12 hours at Chicago O’Hare, boarding, de-icing, taxiing, returning to the gate :||, after which the flight was cancelled and we were left on our own to rebook our flights and figure out lodging.
