I’m a very southern person and I often find myself editing to make sure non-southern people can understand the traditions/phrases/locations etc in my books. As I’ve aged, I’m wondering if that doesn’t lead to watering down the culture I want to represent.

Moving back and forth from fantasy to contemporary romance writing and I have to watch my usage of “old gods” etc. Doesn’t quite flow in modern convo.

Also if you’re looking for a text editor for your writing, can’t recommend scrivener enough. No AI. No subscription.

I’m curious about publishing a limited run of physical books. Hoping it can be an A6 size book, similar to the bunkobon that are published in Japan. I don’t see that on a lot of US print shop websites. Is it just as easy as doing a special order? #booksky 🌶️📚 🌈📚

I said this, and then I wrote 1700 words. I really am starting to think the solution to writer's block is reading. If I can write another 1300 words tonight, I'll even be on target for the day.
But I am very sleepy and might just go back to bed for more reading.

All I've done today is lay in bed and read. I read two novel-length fanfics (one for Fallout, one for The Pitt) and a book called Idle Grounds that was very weird and very good.
It's hard not to feel like I'm wasting my name but it's such a nice way to waste time lol
