NEWS! My next book, TRANSLUNAR, about a closeted trans woman who's an astronaut in the sixties, is coming out in fall 2027! It'll be on Wildthorn, Tor's brand-new general fiction imprint -- a dream, as it lets me work with @englelaird.bsky.social on my literary and historical fiction as well as SFF.

I don’t know who, if anyone, will want to read my WIP trans femme neo-Bundist mecha erotic horror, but if you *do* want that, good news (eventually, hopefully)

Cool story, once upon a time I made a game called Neocolonialism and I opted for an inverse Galls-Peter projection to make players second guess this specific graphical distortion. It annoyed everyone and here’s the steam page so it can annoy you too

IMO I’m good at chunky prose-poem paragraphs with run on sentences and a fractured sense of time that spell out, starkly, an anger and a sadness that you might already have felt but couldn’t describe. Also I’m good at writing about autistic transbians.
Artists, I think we're all too comfortable sharing our imposter syndrome.

I would love to see you step out of your comfort zone and confidently state what you think you're actually really good at.

No self deprecation, just what you think you're the strongest at

Is anyone brave eniough? 👀

if i had access to a substance that, if injected, really does cause autism, id first do a research deep dive to confirm that it can also augment existing autism and then, if so, I’d obviously inject it, like are you fucking kidding me, it would only make me hotter and more powerful

1. There was a time when Zionists and non Zionist leftist Jews were roughly at parity
2. Some stuff in the Book of Kings probably happened
3. America really didn’t need to drop the atom bombs on Japan
4. The history of the CIA is always more fucked up than you think
5. Shrapnel is named after a guy
Here’s a fun top five: things that are consensus among historians but are essentially unknown by the public. Richard I, a bad king of England. Roman Empire, fell in 1453. Paul, more important than Jesus. Witch burning, a modern phenomenon not a medieval one. Britain last invaded in 1688. Yours?
As someone who wrote a dissertation on that damnable Frenchman; one can only hope.

2026 is going to full of people assuming that a contravening force will magically appear and yield a blue wave that will (I guess?) reverse everything we’ve lost (again, magically) and it just won’t happen. Nothing will get better until enough people are done waiting for magic

The stranger that Rachel encounters in my story Rachel is at a Protest was a real person. Rachel meets him in 2009 and I met him in 2014. Aside from a few small details, that’s the only autobiographical part of the story. I still think about him often.
I would like to hear about a time someone, a stranger even, was very kind to you without any prompting, ulterior motive, or strings attached.
