Even though I have little extra time, I've been thinking abt revisiting my "Unlearn Unity" video from a while back and turning it into a video tutorial series with visual/code examples.

I've been doing a bit more consulting and mentorship lately, and it's shown me there's a need for that "content."

Just recommend this review to my students when we were discussing “chasing zeitgeist” game design.
For Arc Raiders to ride the wave of human sociability all the way to the bank, while also being so contemptuous of the thing that makes us social animals in its own workflow demonstrates a lack of artistic integrity that I find impossible to ignore.

The quiet contented feeling of folding laundry while kiddos are quietly playing nicely together with a side-of-the-road new toy acquisition.

A good rainy Sunday afternoon.

After having a couple of brief convos and encounters with some parent strangers I’ve come to realize that we do like maybe 10% of the screen time that a lot of parents do.

I’m pleased about this discovery.

Started playing Seance of Blake Manor last night and am instantly into it.

The combination of complicated character dynamics, historical fiction, and Golden-Idol-like puzzles proves very engrossing.

One of those “I gotta see where this goes” kinda games.

I'm trying to participate in a NaNoWriMo for game writers and am already falling way behind because I've written over 3500 words in student feedback on midterm projects.

Dang.

Nothing quite like the feeling of the project maintainer of the game engine you use posts about your game.

Thanks so much for sharing truly!

Just got Kirsten Gillibrand’s New York Minute newsletter where she highlights “urging bipartisanship” during the shut down but can’t even endorse @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social.

A telling snapshot of a political party at odds with itself.

I've been really struggling with focus and attention. I have these small pockets of time between things I used to fill with small incremental progress on work, but I haven't been able to get back into that routine this Fall.

It might be my new teaching/work schedule, but I fear it's something else.

Python rejected curtailing DEI initiatives stipulated by a $1.5m grant.

If you can donate a couple bucks I think it’d be a good showing of solidarity.

I don’t event use python regularly but deeply respect this commitment to their user base and community.
TLDR; The PSF has made the decision to put our community and our shared diversity, equity, and inclusion values ahead of seeking $1.5M in new revenue. Please read and share. pyfound.blogspot.com/2025/10/NSF-...

At MAGFest last year, a stranger a bit older than me visibly welled up playing BoJ.

After finishing the demo, he solemnly came up to me, shook my hand for about 10 seconds, wiped a tear, and uttered “Thank you.”
Artists 👋 what's a compliment you've received that has really stuck with you or meant a lot to you? I'm curious, and also, I think it's nice to occasionally remind yourself that people appreciate what you do and that it matters 🥰
A thought that often occurs to me: “I really need to expand my vocabulary so I have more ways to compliment my friends’ beautiful artwork.”
