It seems that online shopping status emails have been updated for the ADD generation. My inbox:

Vendor, Sun: Thank you for your purchase!
Vendor, Mon: Your order tracking info!
FedEx, Mon: Scheduled for delivery tomorrow
FedEx, Mon: On the way
Vendor, Mon: Arriving soon!

There's only one thing I like about AT&T: how their stupid name exposes HTML-escaping issues.

This weekend, Oliver twice woke me up with squawking when I meant to sleep in.

So, I was wrong. 🦜📣🫩

Pet birds don't make you wake up early, unlike dogs, or cats, or kids.

Birds are awesome.

Learned this week that I will talk first in the Q&A section of almost any meeting. I might want to curb that a bit.

I can never decide whether I'm glad or scared when I see others wearing masks in public.

Are you sick or considerate? SICK OR CONSIDERATE?!

Just made a super satisfying sequential circuit in #OxygenNotIncluded with a half-dozen SR latches and a bunch of gates, triggering in a loop for a single game tick, to activate 5 conveyor shut-offs one at a time.

Shit, what time is it?

I drove the Evo only 730 miles in the past *year*. Why do I still have it?

I mean, it is orange and loud and stupid fun sometimes, but still.

All we need in life is a button that turns lights on and off. The smaller the button and the bigger the lights, the better.

ME: It’s taco time! The time for tacos. The time chosen specifically to eat tacos!

HIM: Shouldn’t taco time be on a Tuesday?

ME: Looks like someone’s got a Queso The Mondays

HIM: *sigh*

Today I did laundry, vacuumed two cars, changed the oil in the snowblower to put it away, and installed two replacement outdoor light fixtures, which included the use of a giant masonry drill bit named "Diablo."

This makes up for months of unproductive weekends, and credits me a few more, I think.

Why are people loud at home. Be respectful of your neighbors, cultivate a peaceful space. Use your inside voice. I don't want to hear you from inside my house.

Thus concludes my privileged suburban whining. Yes, I do have a front yard, backyard, driveway, AND garage, how'd you guess?

I'm always proud of having attended Jesuit schools. In my experience, Jesuits tend to do the right thing, with style and grace, more often than most.
With his permission, I'm sharing Dean Treanor's response to Ed Martin's letter:
