Spinal Tap 2 was really lovely. I love that it was under 90 minutes. It felt so impressively effortless. It was so confident in what it wanted to be, had some great bits, and perfectly aped the "reunion tour" documentary, and the music was great. It was just nice, and it was fun, and that's good.

The Rob Reiner news is devastating. This Is Spinal Tap was one of the first R-rated movies I actually sought out and watched, and I was so happy to see it re-enter the Criterion collection this year. Stand By Me was a favorite first-time watch this year. So many other great movies. Man.
