The concept of ancient invasions aligns with the view (which I've had since I was a grad student) that invasions are defined by evolutionary context.

Like extinctions & climate change, invasions occurred long before humans, though humans are now driving these phenomenon.

As part of @asrainforest.bsky.social we were pleased with Scottish Government progress on restoring Scotland’s rainforest in 2024. Now we need clarity on how the extra £5m for Scotland's rainforest in the 2025-26 budget will be spent, and recommitment to restoration ahead of #SP26.
