You know he practiced his speech in the Homewood Suites bathroom mirror that morning. Only to become instantly famous lmao
"You raise your voice, I erase your voice." Meet 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨 𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐳𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐳, an ICE Deportation Officer from Miami, FL (originally from Puerto Rico). Gonzalez has lived in Miami and Hollywood, FL. He decided it would be fun to travel to Miami to kidnap and threaten people. #OneOfOursAllOfYours #UnmaskICE

Forty years after the Challenger disaster, engineers who fought to stop the launch still grapple with the guilt of "what if." The tragedy remains a definitive lesson in the danger of prioritizing management goals over engineering truths and the fatal cost of silencing dissenting voices.
40 years after Challenger: Lingering guilt and lessons learned

ICE are alllll over Harlem right now, 116 & Frederick Douglass, checking IDs and targeting the area’s African community. Multiple people have been detained.

Community members are advising folks to carry citizenship documents - or stay away if they are at risk

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Sen Chris Murphy warns Dems:

"If people don’t see us fighting on something as existential as whether we condone the federal government murdering our own citizens, there will be a mass withdrawal from politics altogether."

On the pod, Murphy lays it all out so well:

This.
The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

When I was in law school, one of the doctrinal points drilled into my head by @tribelaw.bsky.social was "there are three co-equal branches of government."

The past months of Trump's defiance of judicial orders demonstrated that he is either too ignorant, too stupid or too fascist to understand.

god maine sounds like a horror novel but also good riddance to ICE
This is happening! An NH friend of mine lives just across the river from Maine and works over there sometimes. He said the locals are already picking out ICE agents at restaurants and bars, on the streets and at stores to berate them and run them off. Mariners will just say people are "from away"
Hey, let’s go to Maine in the dead of winter, a time of year that certainly won’t make us more recognizable to a populace that has the ability to spot an out-of-stater from 500 yards away.

You and what army?

No, really, Matt: if you want to deport and jail all my neighbors, you’re going to need an army.

We’re in the real world now bucko. This isn’t internet land where you declare something and it becomes true. You need actual dudes. So where’s your army?

Amid these dark moments, something important is beginning to shift.

It's clearly the result of healthy political pressure - which we must sustain, and build.
