While I liked both movies, the "physics" in them might as well have been magic. Especially the but in Arrival about language giving special access to time.
Although I agree with the top 2 of this list, I find it a crime that the film "Contact" based on Carl Sagan's book wasn't event mentioned. And what about "Arrival"?? A bit disappointed of fellow physicists 😛 #AcademicSky 🧪 🥼❄️ 🔭 🎢 ⚛️

Here's the Monkey Head nebula, NGC 2174, near the end of Orion's club. The red is hydrogen and cyan is oxygen. I took some liberties with the mix.
The nebula as shown is a little bit smaller than the full Moon.
