Beautiful, perfect story:
For the first half of my kindergarten year, my family lived in a shitty little apartment complex somewhere in Central Texas. I forget where. I think Waco? Copperas Cove? We moved around a lot. If memory serves correctly, I attended three different schools that year.

The second episode of The Studio is exactly why I don’t like visiting set. Seth Rogen exemplified my greatest fears. 😂

It isn’t Mother’s Day until one of your kids yells at you for not paying enough attention to them. 😂🫠

Do not believe, for one moment, that tariffs on non-US made movies and TV series will help our US-based industry. It will hurt theaters; it will contract our business even more.

Incentives, worker protections, creative development are the way forward. Keep fighting the good fight, y'all.

Phew, my jealousy meter is OFF THE CHARTS watching these Cowboy Carter tour vids.

Long live Queen Bey.

I bet Marc Elias and his team are exhausted.

Dems. Read the room. Do not send fundraising texts right now. Get out there and do something worthy of our support and of the votes we gave you to be there.

DO. SOMETHING.

Angelenos: if there’s a restaurant, coffee shop, independent bookstore, local boutique, hair salon, florist, bakery, etc in your area that you really love… they need your business now in order to survive.

I’ve now lived through two “once in a generation” disasters and I can tell you that recovery is long, arduous, frustrating. It takes creativity, stubbornness, bravery, and fortitude.

And if those things don’t describe Angelenos, I don’t know what does.

We’ll be with you every step of the way, LA.

Angelenos:

If you’ve lost your home or have been displaced and unable to return, start saving all of your itemized receipts now.

When the time comes to recoup some of what has been lost, someone (insurance) will ask for it.

Supplies, food, gas, lodging, air fare… save receipts for all of it.

I somehow managed to order SIX BOXES of on-sale Hanukkah candles (for next year's holiday) from different sites. So our 2025 latke parties are gonna be lit.

(You're welcome.)

Even Stephen King gets imposter syndrome. So from now on, when I feel it, I'm going to remind myself I'm doing something right.

You should do the same.

As we near the year’s end, let this be a reminder that “worst of” lists are unfunny, unhelpful, and unnecessarily mean. Stick to “best ofs” and we can discern the rest thanks.

Every trans person I’ve ever met has been so gentle and loving and kind. They’re just so happy to be themselves. They’re not looking to bring harm on anyone because they know how awful it is.

He resigned from Congress effective immediately. This doesn’t change that… right?
Or is he gonna worm his way back in?

Asheville has drinking water in our pipes for the first time since the storm hit 53 days ago.

Our city leaders worked their asses off for this. We are so grateful for the many helpers in our area. ❤️

Today is the first day, in more than two weeks, that both of my children are healthy enough to attend their school/camp. Today. The final day before a 12 day break. 😂😷

Was deep in my post-Hanukkah tradition of scraping wax off everything using toothpicks and my fingernails when my clever husband suggested a credit card Zamboni and my life is forever changed.

Absolutely love and am truly inspired by Pamela Anderson showing up to events sans make-up. The woman has been objectified her whole life and she seems to be joyously taking her power back.

I am 100% here for it.

A large number of years ago, my sister gifted me a book. Every time someone saw it on my shelf, they said “ooh! This is a good one.” Despite that, I never cracked it, always choosing books I had bought for myself.

Anyway, I finally read it.

It was The Poisonwood Bible and it was perfect.

Read a post that was so hysterically funny that I laugh-cried and snotted all over myself. Not an hour later, I see everyone commenting how it’s a stolen post… with receipts.

The internet giveth and the internet taketh away.

Sigh.

This bums me out so much. I loved The AV Club.

Series finales are notoriously difficult to pull off, and understandably so, but I just watched the series finale of THE AMERICANS last night and there is one scene in particular that was so powerful, it might be burned in my brain forever.

Pay writers and actors.
