Lydia's version is still a bit more fucked up looking than hers, but I'm not necessarily opposed to that
Unlike Phoebe, Lydia doesn't have a human form or guise. Due to how she died, she's effectively banned from ever assuming that form again, even if she wanted to (she doesn't).
Like Phoebe, however, she has a much more monstrous form to call on.

the nice thing about #sketchbook files is that i've learned to just pick at them over awhile when I get the urge to doodle. Theres always a jumping off point for my brain because its so hard to start fresh and decide what to draw.

Not only just a great story for a number of reasons (big ol CW for child abuse tho!!) but the artwork stands out.

Relistened to Barker's 'Jacqueline Ess' and 'Skins of the Fathers' w/ Ependa since she'd never heard them, and I was expecting to be more impressed with the latter on reread but Ess turned out to be the standout.
Skins was interesting tho because there were baby quirks in Barker's writing for it.

The hard and fast rules are: can only comfortably shift forms once a week, and MUST shift at least once a month or their body will do it for them.
They also can't just immediately shift back, they've got at least a couple hours of being 'stuck' once they change.
