I saw a journal entry on a site I used to frequent from 17 years ago and the discourse was even more vapid than it is now. Not only did everyone have to write paragraph long journal entries, but every comment section had 2-3 edgelords insisting that caring about anything made you lame.

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

Hotel Dusk is about as good as I remember and I'm having fun streaming it, but man it's easy to lose stamina when I have to voice everything.

My lukewarm take is that cartoony/stylized art is no harder or easier than realism. It's just that non-artists and beginners are more easily taken in by details, but the flaws are no less glaring to anyone with a trained eye.

One of my favourite things about the remake series is the characterization of Cloud. Like they really hammer home how much of an awkward freak you come across when you try to be mysterious and stand off-ish.
And everyone acknowledges it but treats him like their special little weird guy.
