In tribute to the last penny coming off the press today in the US, here’s one of the most unique pressed pennies in my collection. It reads “Wallace is out so let’s stick with Nixon in 1972 he ain’t so bad” and is pressed on a 1972 penny from the Denver mint.

last night I made vegetable beef soup with a variety of leftovers I had on hand. It was delicious.

And for dessert, a slice of pumpkin pie with a second gin highball because I don’t have work in the morning. I think it tastes better with a 1:1 ratio of honey and gin but that’s just my preference on this second glass

First attempt at soul cakes. They don’t look great but they taste okay - I made choices and substitutions that affected the outcome and that’s okay; I’ll do some things different next time.
And yes, the Soul Cake Duck made an appearance!

It’s raining outside but inside I have mushroom and truffle tortellini (from a box) and garlic bread (also from a box) and a fireplace DVD for ambiance and I’m snuggling into some soft warm blankets for the evening

The good news: the baked beans I made overnight look fantastic
The bad news: I spilled an entire pot of water on the floor trying to make my tea as I headed out the door for work, necessitating three towels to clean up.
Looks like I’m doing laundry tonight.
