While the price of gold was bumbling along at $2K for most of Biden's era I think by spring 2024 other countries could already predict Trump 2.0 and our economy going to the shitter with borrowing, pointless war mongering, and unchecked corruption.

Even as an atheist if you replace "God" with "human spirit" then I can fully get behind this. After all wasn't a strong part of the Gnostic gospels that god is within ourselves, not some hateful troll sitting around waiting to smite people and occasionally saving them if they pass a purity test?

Thought about this more, when you're a billionaire almost every country in the world will give you citizenship in the blink of an eye so Musk etc. won't give a damn about this. They can also pay to have anyone they want including a future wife (Melania) "imported" even if they were here illegally.

It would also probably lead to the end of tax treaties with other countries and perhaps cause US citizens living overseas and paying taxes there to relinquish their US citizenship and hence stop paying US taxes.
