My statement on Senate Rs' attempt to eliminate courts' ability to promptly address lawless behavior by the federal government:

If this stays in the bill, only a billionaire would be able to get prompt relief from the courts when this administration breaks the law.

Giving new tax breaks for billionaires is bad enough.
Paying for these tax breaks by robbing all of us of our health care, child care, and student loan assistance is even worse.

As a former child junior olympic-level runner, I have a few thoughts on the attacks on trans girls in sports. I ran for one of the most competitive teams in Southern California, and people who ran for my have gone on to become professional athletes. And these bans: they're fucking NONSENSE. 🧵

URGENT: The Senate is voting on a funding bill today that would facilitate Trump and Musk’s power grab—accelerating our government’s decline toward an authoritarian oligarchy and hurting all of us.

Thinking back to the early 90s when so-called Travelgate—the firing of seven executive office employees and the allegation that there might be some conflict on interest at play—was a national scandal that went on for years and years. Anyway, here we are.

Hmmm. Refusing to recruit highly qualified individuals specifically because they are Black and preferring less qualified white applicants for the same role. If only there were laws about this sort of thing.
The US Army Recruiting Command pulled out of a long-term partnership with a major Black STEM event but sent the same unit to a mostly white NRA event “that recruiters acknowledge is less likely to yield high-quality applicants.” #civmil #milhist #RaceToTheBottom

We're demanding REAL action, because our freedoms depend on it.

Proud to speak at the Department of Labor today against Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s misogynistic attempts to roll back core civil rights protections so billionaires can run free. We see what you are trying to steal from us.

ICYMI: We were joined by over 175 organizations to condemn Trump's executive order discriminating against transgender, nonbinary, and intersex people, falsely claiming to be “defending women against gender ideology.”

This order is cruel & lawless. Period.
Trump order recognizes only two sexes. Advocates call it 'cruel,' 'lawless.'
Trump's Inauguration Day executive order declared there are just two sexes. Now, 170 groups say that endangers transgender, others.

I have heard rumors that Republican senators "don't like the guy but just need one more thing." It's difficult to credit when there is truly an avalanche of evidence of unfitness, especially if we stipulate that gross misogyny is relevant. www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...
Senators receive affidavit containing new allegations against Pete Hegseth, who denies the claims
The former sister-in-law of Trump’s defense secretary pick said that Hegseth made his second wife fear for her safety. Hegseth’s second wife said, “There was no physical abuse in my marriage.”

I keep seeing this reference to public bathrooms as women's "private spaces" and I just do not understand it. Strangers are strangers even when they're women! We're not communing in there for hours at a time, talking about perimenopause and who's getting divorced and shaving our legs.
