Interested in probiotics, archaea, and the gut microbiome!
My first-author manuscript is up on bioRxiv! 📄 🔬 This work uncovers a previously unrecognized protective role for gut-resident archaea in protecting the host from intestinal inflammation/disease. If you’re interested, read our preprint: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Archaea , archaea everywhere ☺️!
More and more cool work looks at the role of human archaea in health outcomes. In this preprint, authors suggest protective role & show that colonisation of mice with M. smithii or M. stadtmanae thickens mucus, boosts reg. T cells & protects vs DSS colitis.

Nutrition experts say that resistant starch is one of the best things for your gut microbiome.

That’s because it gets converted into compounds that reduce inflammation, lower your risk of chronic diseases and more.
Why this nutrient is great for your gut health
Resistant starch helps protect against chronic diseases and has other health benefits. Here are foods you can eat to get more of it every day.

The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific.

If you know anyone who is impacted, please help them get online to get their benefits approved

Transgenic means that genes from 1 organism have been put into another. We make transgenic mice to understand how genes influence biological processes. We make transgenic plants to make them more nutrient rich. We make transgenic bacteria so they make medicine for us. It's wide-ranging & v. useful.

More tragic news about NIH and NIH science. Grant system is frozen and intramural program is being slashed. All will claw back on treatments and cures for cancer and other human diseases. This can’t be what the public wants. 🧪 www.science.org/content/arti...

It would be a shame to encourage folks to use banned book lists to do strange things like
-check them out regularly at the library
-request the library order them if they don’t have them
-buy them
-start or support banned book clubs
-organize a banned book kids story time
A real shame

The important thing right now is not to lose hope and become immobilized. With flooding the zone, that is precisely what they are hoping to do, to make you feel as if you have no voice.

It is imperative that every single one of us stay informed and involved.
