I run a Latin language blog on patreon, write books, and read a lot. Married another writer. We have two kiddos together.
I haven't been good at posting Latin recently but I made a card game where you have to use rhetorical devices to win and my family is like...wait...this is the perfect game for us! We would love this! So, there is much play testing in my future....

When @ursulakleguin.com started writing a new novel, she would begin by drawing a map. The Word for World is the first publication focusing on her maps.

Okay, so I collect tragic orpheus songs. So, I was super surprised when looking for an old one to discover Machine Gun Kelly release a new one a few months ago. It is GORGEOUS!

I spent my weekly Latin post time this week writing a spicy essay about what Romans really thought about the quote 'oderint dum metuant' You can read it on my Patreon. #classicsbluesky #latinquotes www.patreon.com/posts/oderin...

Shapiro: I filed that amicus brief last night to make it very clear that the Pennsylvania National Guard is under my command.

The way the President has chosen to deploy the Guard in other states—and, in at least one case, deploy the Guard from one state into another—is extremely dangerous.

Book bans do not protect children; they seek to control them. They limit what young people can know, imagine, and question.

Donald Trump is not a king — and his administration is not above the law.

Today, the court confirmed what we all know: there is no credible evidence of a rebellion in the state of Illinois.

And no place for the National Guard in the streets of American cities like Chicago.

Why would we willingly sign on to a deal that harms Americans? What assurances do we have that the executive branch will hold up its end of the bargain? Everyone – Republicans and Democrats – should be outraged at this administration's overreach.

It's been a while since I did a book rec. Picked this one up on a whim on the new-book rack. It is awesome! I loved it! It introduced me to so many great quotes and interesting personalities! I enjoyed how Asian traditions were paralleled with western ones on occasion. If you love books try it out.

The amazing Roman pharos (lighthouse) at Dover, still standing after almost 2,000 years! 🤩

The tallest surviving Roman structure in Britain, and one of only three surviving lighthouses from the former Roman Empire! Dated 1st-2nd century AD.
