Right, like I never thought I'd live to see the day where am American President started acting like Mao Zedong but this is giving "the people we only out of food for a couple months" vibes.

When @ursulakleguin.com started writing a new novel, she would begin by drawing a map. The Word for World is the first publication focusing on her maps.

A reminder about public history. ✍️
I feel like people need to read Cicero's speeches against Marcus Antonius.
I feel like my parents should get credit for realizing we did worse at both these places and sent us back to public school when we told them the situation was better at regular school. But it really is better at public school!
I am telling you my parents send me everywhere to avoid the "evil indoctrination plague." I went to charter school, a private Christian School, in rural areas public schools have the most reliable, and competent teachers. Public schools are far and away best education!
Okay, so I collect tragic orpheus songs. So, I was super surprised when looking for an old one to discover Machine Gun Kelly release a new one a few months ago. It is GORGEOUS!

I spent my weekly Latin post time this week writing a spicy essay about what Romans really thought about the quote 'oderint dum metuant' You can read it on my Patreon. #classicsbluesky #latinquotes www.patreon.com/posts/oderin...

Shapiro: I filed that amicus brief last night to make it very clear that the Pennsylvania National Guard is under my command.

The way the President has chosen to deploy the Guard in other states—and, in at least one case, deploy the Guard from one state into another—is extremely dangerous.

Book bans do not protect children; they seek to control them. They limit what young people can know, imagine, and question.

Donald Trump is not a king — and his administration is not above the law.

Today, the court confirmed what we all know: there is no credible evidence of a rebellion in the state of Illinois.

And no place for the National Guard in the streets of American cities like Chicago.

Why would we willingly sign on to a deal that harms Americans? What assurances do we have that the executive branch will hold up its end of the bargain? Everyone – Republicans and Democrats – should be outraged at this administration's overreach.
It's been a while since I did a book rec. Picked this one up on a whim on the new-book rack. It is awesome! I loved it! It introduced me to so many great quotes and interesting personalities! I enjoyed how Asian traditions were paralleled with western ones on occasion. If you love books try it out.
Yeah, I keep thinking what are the parents gonna do when the kids find out years of suffering were avoidable. Like...not sure that relationship will last very long. Great, your choices gave me liver disease. Let's go out to dinner!
Okay, so never get pregnant or nurse in case you get called up for farm labor in over 90 degrees temp where getting breaks and water is optional...also, I second the opinion that all this shit was made up in the ancient world. Evil is never original and always stealing ideas.
