i think if you want to have those disgusting LED headlights on your car, you should have to do a test where they blast you point blank with your own headlights and then you have 15 seconds to successfully complete some sort of vision-based task, and if you can't do it they push your car off a cliff

It’s a very strange feeling to realize after two decades that you’re essentially at the point where you’ve now lived without the person who passed away for longer than you had them

Today I got the dreaded annual funeral home email asking if I’d like to write a new note of remembrance for my dear friend Fred who passed away 21 years ago making me feel like I’ve been stabbed. This is also when I re-share the essay I wrote about him

I forget what’s the rule again if you have a dream about someone you haven’t seen or spoken to in a year? Tell them right?

I get why it happens but goddamn do I wish anything could hit as hard on the timeline as something that sucks that everyone hates written by or about the worst person you know. I wish something good or interesting was able to get anywhere near the traction some shit that sucks does.

I love movies. Going to the movies. Watching them at home. I feel extremely sorry for the antisocial nuts who think that AI means they can re-do an existing movie on a shitty program that changes the ending or makes the characters do/say what they want. You don’t deserve movies

I think we all agree that one person will read the book and there will be an essay entitled “I read American Canto so you don’t have to”

Pluribus episode 3 is genuinely hilarious and also goddamn that show in general really just has beautiful shot compositions in every single scene.

I genuinely think Olivia Nuzzi wrote a book that has zero audience. MAGA folks won’t stand for anyone besmirching their steroid riddled lunatic and anyone with a brain is too grossed out by the idea of her being attracted to said lunatic

I will no doubt read and enjoy all your very good Nuzzi jokes, but I also want to say earnestly, so many of us (myself included) are on the verge of being pushed out of this industry and it's genuinely so dispiriting to see the worst among us, ethics-wise, get such preferential treatment.
