What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.
This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.

The “Bootstraps” idiom was originally meant to refer to the literally impossible. It was co-opted.
Idiom Origin
“pull yourself up by your bootstraps”
This was originally *sarcasm* & meant to convey that the act was impossible.
A boot strap is a loop used to help put your boot on.
This 1921 cartoon from the “Nonpartisan Leader” showcases that you can’t pull upward on your boots to levitate.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Gary Lineker: top-flight all time great footballer with an exemplary record (never once booked). Distinguished broadcasting career. Considered and thoughtful on so many issues. An extraordinarily accomplished person.
Yet it's David Beckham, Knight Bachelor.
That says so much about this country.

Pearson routinely gets away with spreading racist, inflammatory and dangerous lies like this. She - not asylum seekers - is a menace to civil society.
A national newspaper journalist went on a British TV channel to claim police stats showed asylum-seekers committed 44% of sex crimes in Dorset.
This shocking claim was treated as fact by the channel which promoted the clip on social media where it was amplified by AI.
Except... it's bollocks.

Beyond disgusting.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

I am not a doomer, I am simply saying, we need to get real, and to start looking at the whole big picture, and to stop ignoring the biodiversity crisis etc, as if it is a separate issue, which it is not. It is clear, that very few people on high salaries, are objective. They are compromised.
