Fond of books, books, books, movies, great music, especially rock and roll, and an unabashed liberal, father of four daughters, fascinated by nature and just trying to figure it all out while remaining upright.
Man, this sucks. Raul Malo of The Mavericks has passed at 60. Though they were identified as a country band, I would argue a more apt label would have been Americana (but I don't think that sort of label for music existed back then).

For a little amusement in this time of hell: one thing we can be sure of - Ted Danson certainly does not get his hairpiece from Morrie of Goodfellas, while it is clear Reynolds and Stallone were loyal customers.

Looking for a pair of under-the-radar, gritty crime flicks worth your time to watch? Hazard follows a mostly good-hearted Appalachian drug dealer during the opioid crisis. She Rides Shotgun is about a father & all he cares about being hunted by a violent & untouchable white supremacist gang.

To all the Celebs that showed up for this: ALL of you are scum. Absolute, attention-grabbing scum. The Hollywood crowd loves to exhibit itself as human rights loving people, but this shows how they really are: SCUM.

Maybe, just maybe, one just desserts that results from the committed criminality by the Adjudicated Rapist In Chief's admin is hopefully some world court indicts all of them, which will prevent them from traveling abroad to avoid being arrested.

Isn't it something - the group of people who bitch the loudest about participation trophies are now having multiple MAGA orgasms over the adjudicated rapist in chief receiving a fake participation trophy himself. Can things get any more absurd??

A kindly suggestion to those fond of posting & reposting videos: if you want people to watch them, add a summary of some sort to the content included. Believe me, it helps to increase viewing - I rarely watch these because so many of them have too much unnecessary filler.

If watched with the proper perspective (especially if you are a man), this movie is outstanding. It is from a woman's point of view about an underappreciated and overworked woman who has had enough. Being the only male in a family of six, I adored this movie. Um, it's kind of accurate, too.

Again, if the Google search on ACA enrollees is correct (35% Dem, 45% Rep, 20% Ind), why in the hell are Wash Dems failing to exploit this more effectively than they are? Take this wedge & pound it in as deep as it will go, dammit. Frigging 65% percent of Republicans & Independents! Sadly, I think

My dad, Monte Ellis, was a naturalist & wildlife artist. Oddly, an atheist, believing in nature & evolution, it did not stop him from pursuing other subjects like Christmas time. Included is his painting of Jesus & birth drawing. He passed in 2009. Much of his work is viewable thru a Google search.

Here is something Wash Dems could do: obtain the names & addresses of every enrollee in the ACA & send out a postcard informing them who is responsible for the removal of ACA subsidies.

In an earlier post, a Google search revealed enrollees of the ACA include 35% Dem, 45% Rep, 20% Ind.

Something to ponder:

From Google: Demographics of ACA enrollees

Democrats: Around 35% of ACA
Republicans: About 45% of ACA
Independents: Roughly 20%

I've posted this link before. The failure of the Democratic Party to engage rural people is because too many are incapable of engaging people like this man named Rice. He is not a rabid racist or ignorant, but an epitome of who Wash Dems are incapable of reaching.

Frankly, I wish the Left would garner a better understanding about an extreme narcissistic disorder because maybe it might discover better ways to deal with the adjudicated rapist in chief. He does not give one shit about anyone or anything except himself. It is all about him.

So sad to have learned of the passing of writer Daniel Woodrell this past Friday. The printed word in his most well-known novel, Winter's Bone, perfectly illustrated his ability to create rich mental imagery with unnecessary words.

Let me ask this: Do those on the Left believe fortunes of the Wash Dems are looking up because of the great things the Dems have been doing, or instead, because of all the F-Ups of the MAGA Cult? I know where my thoughts land & it is not because of the good things I perceive from the Wash Dems.

An outstanding and beautifully filmed movie depicting the life of a humane man as he struggles through a harsh world that is slowly stripping his humanity from his body like bark from a tree. Will Patton's narration is also so well done.

One thing that sucks about following US politics for those of us 60-plus years is the long memory & how the true party slouching toward Gomorrah is one party. We remember how, in the 80s, admitting to sampling cannabis was a presidential campaign ender; we recall the impact of a candidate dodging

Another thing to consider about the Fed Govt held Epstein files: recall, during the US's time in Iraq and Afghanistan, video recordings of American torture were destroyed by the US Govt. To me, we are at the stage of who knows what has been altered & destroyed in these files. We may never know.
