Well, hopefully Google has unblocked me and I get back to texting now. Everybody go vote!

Type II: "Politics are too partisan. Politicians never listen to anybody but their donors."

That's why I volunteer at farms and clean-ups: so I get to hear from people who don't usually get access. That's why I'm planning the "town hall van", to go where the people are and GET their opinions.

Type I: "Voting makes no difference."

I used to feel that way too; as a candidate I can tell you that voting is the highest-impact, lowest-effort action you will ever be able to take.

Phone calls, letter writing, protests - especially at the local level, nothing moves the needle like voting.

3. "Stop sending these to everyone!"

We try to be careful about this, really, but we're limited by law. I offer to take them off our database, explaining that we can't change the voter rolls or other campaigns.

I've talked with two kinds of voters about this.

2. "We just dropped off our ballots, and we voted for you."

Thank you! I love to know that people are doing their civic duty.

A few of these are also "Oh, right, I have to vote. What is Jude about?" And I direct them to my website, ElectJude.com

1. "Just voted for you because of your campaigning with food drives!"

Folks, I can't tell you how humbled and grateful I am. If I win, I may have changed the meta for local campaigning. Even if I don't, I've done something GOOD.

I also volunteered at cleanups and farms and such. /humblebrag

We had so many food donations, and lots of great conversations with Ten Trails residents! I especially want to thank the conservative folks who came out and helped their neighbors, even though they didn't want to talk with me. I will do my best to represent ALL the residents of District 9!

This event -- collecting donations for an 80-door community -- cost us $60 in materials (including ice and water), plus 7 hours: 3 hours in the tent, 2 hours dropping off door hangers, and 2 hours doing reminders and pickups.

Maple Valley Food Bank serves about 370 families every week, and over 400 a week during holidays.

They were happy to get Sawyer Crest's donations, and we're thrilled to have helped make it happen!

If you want one in your neighborhood, request us at our website at electjude.com/drives
