Stonehenge image from archive.org. Happy Solstice!

By the way, I really do try hard to remember to put alt text in my posts, including the rubbish AI generated alt texts in pre-existing images. So forgive me if I forget once in a while.

I generally don't get invited to #Christmas parties or throw #holiday parties at my house.. OK, well, I throw them for myself. This year's present to myself and my festive evening is all planned. #TheSolitaryGourmet #Manga #JapaneseFood

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. Because I ate it for lunch.

#Yule #Cat. Good thing my sister sent me a jacket as a gift this year. The Skoðanasterkur köttur (Opinionated Cat) in my house is more than enough to deal with. #Iceland #Christmas
Forget Santa. In Iceland, the Yule Cat judges your outfit 🎅🏼

The photos are stunning. They will be considered historic and I hope they get an award. Yes, it's fashion photography, but it's so many levels above ordinary photography.

Back to cats, then. #Caturday is every day. It rained and the cat really wanted to be out. After some negotiation, we settled on "fresh air". Time to clean out the litter box, I guess.

I verified that anyone can unredact the #EpsteinFiles. I opened a pdf, did a cut and paste of the redacted parts into a text edit session and all the words were there. You don't need Word or any other $$ application. Just your default cut and paste. Merry Christmas?
December 23, 2025 at 5:05 PM
Apparently, you can view the "redacted" #Epstein documents by doing a cut and paste over the blackened out stuff. I have not verified it, myself, because I'm too cheap to buy/rent Word. Anyone willing to try this?
Y'all they really just fucking highlighted the text black in word on the redacted Epstein files. At least for the digital text files anyway. You can just fucking copy and paste it elsewhere to read it LMAO. I just tried it because I was like there's no fucking way and shit worked flawless.

#Fungus and #Mushroom season! I don't have enough knowledge to choose edible ones in the wild, but I appreciate how unique they are. These are probably lactarius and like to grow where my oak tree sheds leaves.

I wanted to change the sheets yesterday, but someone had other ideas #Caturday is every day. (It was deferred to later in the day)

I just heard this on the local Jazz station #KCSM for their Latin Jazz show. It's some #DoctorDemento level stuff. And yes, the performer is Lalo Guerrero, was a Latino musician and farm labor activist (and a goofy guy!)

National treasure and retired #ParkRanger #BettyReidSoskin has passed away. She was 104. She retired in 2022 when she was 100 years old, making her the country's (perhaps the world's) oldest park ranger.

I won't be out in the back yard in my nightie, dancing, but I certainly feel festive knowing the daylight will increase. #Solstice

Cat wanted to go outside and it was sufficiently not-cold to leave the door open. After a bit, I checked and she was sitting on the steps. I noticed the odor of exploding skunk wafting in the breeze. Every time there's nice weather, they explode and I can't leave the doors or windows open.

It's #Caturday! (Every day is Caturday). This kitty patiently sits outside the deYoung museum all night and day. Looks like he gets plenty of nose boops.

I went to the #DeYoungMuseum in #SanFrancico and in a little corner of the middle eastern rug exhibit was a selection of samplers of various kinds of needlework. They were exquisite. The one pictured was made by a young Scottish woman in the 1880s. #FiberArt #Textiles #WomensArt

I got bored today & did a short drive to #OMCA, the Oakland Museum of California. My favorite piece there is "Aristotle's Cage", a little tableau set in the desert. I go in, look at it and it activates my imagination to a degree I haven't seen since childhood.
