Researchers used various prompts to get 3 AI programs to generate hundreds of lesson plans & thousands of activities for 8th-grade social studies. Result: Most resembled old-fashioned textbook teaching and were focused on getting students just to memorize facts rather than analyze: is.gd/jyfH08
Why AI May Not Be Ready to Write Your Lesson Plans
AI struggles to craft engaging lessons that make good use of technology and activate students’ critical thinking skills, researchers found.

My 2-year-old was in an ICE detention facility when she turned to me gravely and asked "Daddy, why am I being deported to Honduras?" And when I told her "Because due process is too woke," she started crying.

Every time I look at the WWWY lineup I get more excited. I really wish The Dirty Nil was going to be there, though.

Hey. This is fun.

I am a K-12 laboratory school director of academic innovation and studying Curriculum and Educational Policy.

I’m researching the transition of critical theory from theory to practice and the longitudinal implications of critical action pedagogy.

Watching these kids “play school” and the older kid wants to play so he can make the younger one do what he says and hit the younger one with a sword when not quiet. I was shocked until I realized he’s pretty much figured out the behavior control part.

This is a huge goal heading into teaching my first college course. Lucky to have the support to fully realize this transition at the college level after making it happen K-8.
Prof. Ryan Hargrove & I can attest to this: students enter college believing they should (a) be good at school & (b) don’t have to be good at learning. When 18 y-os enter our ungraded, project based, community driven course, we start the work to help them unlearn 12 years of indoctrination. #EduSky
"...Students have been defeated by a system that has divorced school from learning, & where the purpose of school is to be good at school & the measurement of how good you are is your grade...I think students are scared. All the available data on...student depression and anxiety backs me up."

Has there been any research on how effective "teaching the real history" approaches are at combating the far-right?

I'm concerned a) that you can base your far-right views in perfectly sourced historical examples if so inclined, and b) I'm not sure how much a know-it-all tone helps us, optically
