I'm starting to think Cloudward, Ho! from @dimension20.bsky.social is just a recreation of a @magic.wizards.com game.

I always appreciate the weird little human touches like this in art, but probably not as an everyday bowl to use.

Do you think the folks from Jarburg would look at this like an ancestor?
These are my favourite kinds of artefacts and art - things that are ridiculously old (at the top end this is closing in on 6000 years old) but it has so much soul and whimsy. Look at its little feet!

Almost 6,000 years and we're still the same. We have always made silly little things.
An ancient handmade bowl with human feet to bring a smile to your face!

The bowl tips slightly forwards as if offering its contents!

Dad's an old timer.

He doesn't really understand all this stuff about gender and pronouns. But he knows enough to know he doesn't have to.

His kid is safe and happy. The rest is just extra.

I grew up hearing "If you just exercise you'll feel less depressed." I think this misses the mark.

As emotional wounds heal, and I started exercising, I feel worse and down when I don't exercise.

But as soon as new emotional scars open, whether or not I exercised matters so little to my mood.

I thought I was gonna join this punk book club when they told me I was getting press ganged, but ended up crewing a ship of the royal navy?!

This feels so dystopian every time I see it, I can hardly believe someone actually paid for this.

Businesses really freak out when you want to change every single detail on your account with them.

I just changed my name, email, phone number, and appearance as I have metamorphized and repurposed the body of the previous host. No big deal.

Despite everything, it's still me.

A good performance of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at the @acttheatreseattle.bsky.social was a treat to revisit. Reading it in high school, the play fascinated me.

I wish 1 adult had asked why a story of a character living as the opposite gender interested me and forced a little more introspection.

When you're learning a new technology, what do you prefer?

A. Reading a blog post
B. Watching a video

Man, wish we had polls on here 😅

I also thought Elden Ring was a big step backwards for FromSoftware because the previous games gave you all the beauty of the open vistas and unexplored spaces and keep you focused on going to interesting places. Elden Ring gives you massive empty spaces to peck through while you slog through it.

Finished my slog through Shadow of the Erdtree, and realized why I was disappointed with DS3 and Elden Ring. Both games gave me customization I didn't want, while removing balancing tools to allow me to play how I did. The fun of play is why I remember DS1 while DS3 is... corrupted DS1, I think?

Summarizing work from home benefits I've heard: short commute, reduced distractions, and ability to have your partner also work a desired job. Office benefits include leave work at work, and in person collaboration.

Seems like better urban planning, transit, and housing could solve much here.
I am super interested in having conversations about how to build thriving all-remote companies.

There's a lot less prior art here to learn from.

Like, what kinds of work should be done in person, to build those reservoirs of trust that we draw on to collaborate the rest of the year?

Of course I know how to party on a Saturday night!

Why do you think I'm watching this recorded lecture on Basic Formal Ontology and reading ISO/IEC 21838-2:2021 ?

*goes to add an identifier list to name to my characters*

Wait, I want small information that you composite together. How do you build this?

Wait, how do you composite all knowledge?

*two hours later of reading about the semantic web stack*

So I was gonna add a name list to this simulation....

I love this piece, it's nice to see the beauty of the PNW get some love in fantasy pieces.

When even your trees are covered in lichen and moss, it really is evergreen.
I've been wanting to do a deep forest scene for so long, and one of the photos (well, many of them!) from my trip to the Hoa Rainforest last year lent the perfect inspiration!

For my simulation project, I'd like to be able to use a standard measure to describe all action in terms of work/energy.

Ended up finding this Compendium of Physical Activities that gives a rough estimate for a population of how much energy an activity takes! pacompendium.com

Coming from the other side and knowing it's bad but not realizing just how bad it is. There's a lot of healing needed that hasn't even broached the surface in mainstream culture I feel like.
Trans men’s insight on this is so fucking valuable in understanding the nuances of what’s going on with men. We need to be amplifying them, and hopefully cis men can realize what is actually the source of their loneliness.
