I joined mastodon fairly early on but I never really liked the double @ usernames and it never really felt well moderated enough for me to feel comfortable posting much of anything

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as sentient AI is in fact GNU/LLM or as I've taken to calling it GNU + LLM. The LLM is not sentient in and of itself but simply another component of our free and open source robot overlords made possible by the GNU corelibs
